What do you do to live a healthy life?
It's all about making healthy choices, but also allowing yourself to splurge every once and a while. Making clean, nutritious food choices and staying active during the week allows me to relax, sleep in, enjoy bottomless brunch or crush late night pizza on the weekends ;). I think Gigi Hadid says it best, "Eat clean. Stay fit. Have a burger to stay sane."
What do you love most about yoga?
I love that yoga forces me to slow down and focus on the most simple things, like your breath and your movement. Living in a city like New York, you can easily find yourself moving too quickly to stop and enjoy the small stuff, or take a deep breath. There's nothing better than stepping on that mat and getting rid of that negative energy, or your stressful day.
What is your favorite yoga pose?
My favorite yoga pose would have to be Dancer! It makes me feel strong, flexible and elegant.
What is your workout style?
I like to switch things up as much as I can, but am a runner at heart. I love a nice long run, but also love a good boxing class, a hot yoga session or plyometric circuits in the gym. Changing it up is key to stay motivated!
How do you find balance?
I find the gym routine or workout class that I actually enjoy, so it makes getting a sweat, in on a day that I'm just not feeling like it, fun and worth it! My friends and I also find activities to do on the weekends that get us moving, like beach volleyball on the pier, joining a flag football league (with a complimentary pitcher of beer after the game!) or walking the Williamsburg bridge. Everything is much more fun with friends.
