Master the Headstand - Tips from Yoga Expert Danielle Cuccio

Trying to master a headstand isn’t the easiest of tasks.

Kneel down and place elbows and forearms in front of you, clasping the hands together.  Elbows should be equivalent to two fists in length apart.  The more you bring your elbows apart, the harder it will be! 

The placement of the head is super important!  Place the crown of your head on the mat (not your forehead) in between your forearms and the back of your head against your palms.  

Lift your hips up and start to walk your feet closer to your head until you can get one leg up and then maybe...both! (Great to try with a wall for support when you are just beginning!*)

Straighten out the spine, tighten the core and breathe..!
