Tell us a little bit about yourself? 
I grew up in Sydney’s Eastern Suburb's and I developed a passion for dance from an early age. I left home at 16yrs old to attend the New Zealand School of Dance. I studied Ballet Fulltime for 3 years, graduating with a National Diploma in Dance Performance and then continued on to dance in New Zealand for 3 years. I have been living back in Australia for 5 years now, and I reside mainly in Melbourne for about 6 months of the year. The rest of my year is spent touring around Australia and sometimes internationally. Dancing may be my job but it is also my life. My lifestyle revolves around my Ballet schedule and Ballet always comes first.

How do you live an active life? What’s your favourite way to stay fit?
I spend 5-6 days a week in the studio or theatre, starting the morning with a Ballet class for an hour and a half and then rehearsing for another 5 hours or so depending on the production I’m involved with.
This combined with a regime of Pilates and sometimes Cardio at the gym, is how I stay fit. Being in shape for me is having the stamina and endurance to complete a physically heavy workload.

What is your favourite thing to do on the weekend?
My favourite thing to do on the weekend is to catch up with friends over good food and wine but I also use my weekends for some pampering time whether it’s shopping or getting a manicure, something relaxing and just for me.

What’s your style like when you’re not working out?
When I’m not in the studio in my leotard and pointe shoes I like to take some care and thought into how I dress. I like being able to express myself through my choice of outfits for the day and it is on a rare day that you won’t find me in heels.

Tell us about your meal plans?
I tend to eat three meals a day plus snacking. I don’t avoid any foods or food groups. I’m a big fan of pasta and bread, I like that full feeling at the end of a meal.

Favourite healthy dish to cook? Can you share a recipe with us?
I am a terrible cook and like to stick to the basics but the main thing for me when cooking is to know exactly what I’m putting into my body and choosing the appropriate ingredients. I’m a firm believer in giving my body the fuel it needs to perform at its best. Not restricting myself from certain food groups so I don’t feel guilty about making my body and my mind feel good.

How do you find balance?
Finding balance between my work life and personal life is a challenge every day for me. Ballet is all consuming and sometimes it feels like I have no time for anything else. I have to be smart with my free time and make it worthwhile.

What does living an active life mean to you?
Living an active life to me means living a healthy life. My body and mind are at their happiest when endorphins and adrenalin are pumping through my body.

What’s your top workout tactic?
To know your body. The more knowledgeable you are the better you are able to make, healthy, smart and safe choices about your work out routines.

What do you look for in activewear?
I look for activewear that moves and breathes with me. I want to feel supported but not restricted. 

Sunrise or Sunset workout?
Definitely Sunset workout, I have never been a morning person and I find my body is generally more switched on in the evenings. Everything in my day leads up to the performances at night which usually start around 7:30pm and run til 10pm.

Typical workout:
When I’m not in the studio and feel like I need to do a workout to prepare for an upcoming season I would generally do a half hour cardio session for stamina on the cross trainer for a low impact workout. It is rare that I will run for long periods of time so I’m not adding any unnecessary stress to my lower legs and feet. After working up a good sweat I’ll move onto a specialised Pilates routine including core and stabilisation work and then a good stretch out for my muscles.

Typical breakfast:
A typical breakfast for me is a bowl of granola and yoghurt with banana and coffee, always coffee.

What’s your ultimate healthy meal?
A big juicy steak and lots of steamed vegetables.

What are your makeup must-haves?
I can’t live without my YSL touché éclat Radiant Touch and my Bare Minerals Foundation.

What’s always in your gymbag?
A bottle of water and deodorant.

Best active holiday you’ve ever taken:
I’ve travelled around Australia and New Zealand with my dancing. I’ve also toured to China, Japan, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and even Tahiti. Holidays for me are about relaxing and maintaining my body so it’s not a shock when I get back into the dance studio.

What totally relaxes you?
Reading a good book relaxes me, escaping into someone else’s narrative and taking my mind away from my own stress.

What’s your biggest vice?
Wine, always wine. After an eight show week a glass of wine at the end is exactly what I want.

What was the last thing you recommended to a friend?
Probably where to shop.

What’s always in your fridge?
Yoghurt and Lindt Dark Chocolate, I like my chocolate chilled.

What would we be surprised to find in your fridge:
Blocks of butter for when I feel the urge to bake.

Your style icon:
Probably Sofia Loren. I love how she dressed with confidence to flaunt her curves.

Your "healthy living" hero:
The amazing men and women I work with who perform amazing feats with their bodies everyday.

The wardrobe item you can’t live without:
My “Wheels and Dollbaby” black leather jacket.

The book on your bedside table right now:
“Yes Please” by Amy Poehler

Three things on your bucket list:
I don’t necessarily have a bucket list other than to continue dancing for as long as I can and for now that’s as far into the future I can see.
Your latest obsession:
Now that I’m in Sydney for a couple of months I’m hoping it will be the beach, if I can find the time.

Number one reason for living an active life:
I love working as a Dancer and performing on stage is the most fulfilling part of my life. I have always been an active person and I like how my body feels when it’s fit and healthy. I also believe my Body health and my Mind health are very closely linked.
