Q and A with Lindy Klim, founder of Milk and Co

Tell us a bit about yourself? How did you start Milk and Co?
My background was in modelling and fashion and Michael was an Olympic athlete, when Michael retired from swimming he was approached by different companies to be the ‘face-of’ their products and we thought that it made more sense to create our own products, so that the business represented something that we believed in and created longevity vs. 'face-of campaigns’, which seemed so temporary. We realised that there was an opportunity for a men’s skincare range that was Australian made and once we had a baby the range naturally evolved and now we have a women’s collection too.
MILK is KLIM spelt backwards!
You also have Milk Active Club, what inspired you to start a fitness club?
Michael and I both have great trainers who are very inspiring, so we thought it would be a fantastic idea before the holidays to encourage everyone that we are connected with through MILK to get fit and focus on their well-being.
What’s your active living mantra?
My active living mantra would be to keep moving and try to do something active everyday. I’ve always enjoyed training and try to squeeze in some type exercise daily. I like to mix high intensity cardio sessions with my trainer, with a regular practice of Yoga, Pilates and barre or I’ll just go for a walk and enjoy being outside in the fresh air.
What does your beauty and skincare regime look like?
My beauty routine is very simple – it has to be with three kids! I have always preferred to use natural products, which are effective and easy to use, this is what was most important to me when I was designing the Milk & Co women’s collection. I follow a twice-a-day beauty routine of cleansing and moisturising. For me, swimming in the ocean is the ultimate beauty fix and I’m so lucky to be able to swim in the sea everyday when I’m at home in Bali.
What beauty essentials are always in your gym bag?
Where are your favourite healthy hangout spots?
In Bali, my favourite healthy hangout spots are Beatlenut and Watercress
In Sydney, I love to go to Orchard Street in Bondi or Bronte
In Melbourne, I love The Green Cup
What’s on your Vie Active wishlist?
What are your top 3 tips for glowing skin?
I do believe that beauty comes from within - for me, inner-health affects how I feel and how I look on the outside. I try to nourish my body by eating fresh, organic foods whenever I can and I try to find time each day to meditate and connect - I definitely think that clean eating and a calm state of mind shows on the outside with healthy glowing skin. My skin is much brighter when I’m relaxed and well rested - getting enough sleep is always a challenge though with three kids and a business!
